Judge dismisses Sarah Rose appeal against manslaughter charge

Sarah Rose, 22, of Bromford, who is charged with manslaughter and allowing the death of a child, has failed in her apppeal to have the case against her dismissed. A Plea and Case Management date has been set for 7th December.

CCTV ‘crime’ incidents up for October

There was a sharp rise in the number of incidents observed by Vale’s CCTV cameras in the month of October. CCTV’s Control Manager says that the figures are not as bad as they seem. ‘Incidents’ are up to 270, from 230 in September, but compared with October 2006, they are down by 52.

Merlin boss disappointed with journalism in Vale Mail

Robert Brown, Chief Executive of Merlin Venture has expressed his disappointment with standards of journalism in October’s Vale Mail. In a strongly worded letter, he has condemned tabloid-style journalism for distorting a report about Merlin Maintenance, and for printing a letter from a local resident without checking the allegations it contained.
