Tickets for Castle Vale School’s production of High School Musical are selling fast. Performances are set for 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th November, starting at 7pm. The last night has already completely sold out.
High School Musical is best known as a Disney film, first released in January 2006, and so popular that its sequel (High School Musical 2) was brought out just 19 months later, in August 2007. It’s an American teenage romance story along the Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story lines.
The show’s director, Trevor Evans, says that the licence to perform this play has only been available in the UK for four months. The School had to pay £600 for the material for rehearsals. 17% of the school’s box-office takings will go in royalties to the copyright holder (Disney Corporation).

‘Troy’ deffinatly needed a better partner in this play, his partner ‘Gabrielle’ played the part quite bland and did not put much enthusiasm into the performance. Wouldnt see again if had the chance.

LISTENING TO YOU GUYS/GALS TALKING ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL SOUNDS GREAT. BUT DID YOU KNOW CASTLE VALE SCHOOL WAS THE SETTING FOR A FICTITIOUS TV PLAY ABOUT DELINQUENT TEENS, IT WAS MADE IN 1981-83 ish. MANY VALE KIDS WERE USED AS SET EXTRAS AND THE SCHOOLS FICTITIOUS NAME WAS MEADOW RISE, ITS A GOOD PIECE OF VALE NOSTALGIA FORGOTTEN BY MANY VALE PEOPLE OVER TIME. IT WAS ACTUALLY PLAYED ON TV 81-83 ish. SOME OF YOUR PARENTS MAY EVEN HAVE BEEN IN IT AND FORGOTTEN OVER TIME, ASK THEM AND YOUR LONG SERVING TEACHERS IF THEY REMEMBER IT. THE SCHOOL MAY EVEN HAVE RECORDS OR AN OLD VIDEO OF IT STORED SOMEWHERE. I THINK THIS PAPER SHOULD RUN A STORY ABOUT THIS POSITIVE EPISODE OF VALE HISTORY. ask people about it.
