Two unlinked abduction incidents involving young children have been recorded in Birmingham in 24 hours, one on Sunday morning in Alum Rock, the other at 8.15a.m on Monday (3rd March) in Sutton New Road in Erdington. In the Erdington incident, the man, described as white, wearing glasses and in his thirties, pulled the girl into his car, but she escaped unharmed when the driver pulled the vehicle up at Star City. In the Alum Rock incident, the driver, an Asian man, tried to entice the girl into his car, but she ran away. West Midlands Police are going into local schools to warn children of the dangers of walking alone.
