Motorists are set to face another rise in the cost of petrol after Wednesday’s budget statement by Chancellor Alistair Darling. An increase of two pence per litre is the prediction, though some experts think that he may delay the price hike, as petrol prices will go up anyway as a result of oil reaching a record high again today (Monday). Asda at Minworth is currently the cheapest four-star petrol in the area, at 101.9 pence per litre; with Sainsbury’s just behind them at 102.9. Cheapest diesel is 108.9 ppl.
