The Nano, the world’s cheapest car, made by Tata
Jaguar and Land Rover will be bought from Ford today by Tata, the Indian car manufacturing company who have a number of other commercial interests globally. Tata also own Tetleys Tea, and steel company, Corus. They will pay around one billion pounds for Jaguar and Land Rover, who employ 13,000 people in the West Midlands, 3,000 of whom work at the Castle Bromwich plant.
