Strike closes Neighbourhood Office Wednesday and Thursday

The continuing Council workers dispute means that Castle Vale’s Neighbourhood Office at Spitfire House will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday (23rd, 24th).
The Library at Spitfire House will be closed as normal on Wednesday, but will be open on Thursday.
The Astral Centre will be open on both days.

Remembering Eddie

Popular Vale resident Eddie McCormack, who died two years ago, was remembered on Friday night at a Charity Event in his name, organised by Danny Ryan at Minworth Social Club. A teak memorial bench with a plaque (pictured) was unveiled at the Minworth Bowls Club, where Eddie was a member.

Teachers’ Strike: school closures in Castle Vale - information

Some schools in Castle Vale will be affected by the NUT (National Union of Teachers) strike on Thursday 24th April.
The information so far is:

Castle Vale (Secondary) School, Farnborough Rd: OPEN for Year 11 as normal, and for Year 10 examinations, CLOSED for Years 7,8 +9

Pegasus School: OPEN

Chivenor School: OPEN

Topcliffe School: CLOSED for pupils
