Whilst congratulations have to be offered to Councillor Holtom for winning another 4 year term it is regrettable that Castle Vale still has no voice on the council whatsoever. The turnout over the whole Tyburn Ward was 26.5% which is a sad reflection on the ward. Worse still is that the turn out for Castle Vale was just 22.5% and that reflects the apathy on the estate.
A great opportunity was missed by the residents of Castle Vale to give themselves a real voice in the Council Chambers. It is a very sad state of affairs when, as a result of local apathy a Councillor who has no great affection for the Vale, and even less concern for its issues has been elected for 4 years by less than 10% of the electorate.
