Tyrone Fowles, Vale’s member of the Young People’s Parliament, had a day in the House of Lords on Friday, as he and his aspiring young colleagues decided what the important issues of the year should be for the YPP.

Tyrone, a Year 11 student at Castle Vale School, was elected earlier this year as one of six representatives for Birmingham for the YPP, having served as a deputy member last year. The YPP meets regularly on a regional basis, and has one national meeting, in the House of Lords at Westminster. This one coincided with a busy day for London politically …. Boris Johnson was announced as the new Mayor of London at City Hall, a short walk away from the Parliament buildings.
