JKS fury as Council snatch goalposts
JKS Under 13s, unbeaten all season in the league, may have to concede their final match of the season and their 100% league record this Sunday because the Council has taken up the goalposts on the Farnborough Road pitches to give the grass an end of season makeover. Furious JKS bosses are desperately trying to find an alternative pitch so that their team can complete their fixtures with a win. The boys have already won the league and one cup trophy and will be devastated if they lose their unbeaten record because of a Council mix-up.
Their final match is scheduled for a Sunday morning, with the game being over in time for the players and parents to watch the conclusion of the Premier League fixtures, where Birmingham City will be fighting for their Premiership survival.

People wait forever to get the council to do things, and then when they do, they do something stupid like that! Hope JKS get something sorted. Good luck lads!

And what is our newly-re-elected Councillor, Ann Holtom, going to do about this? After all, “everyone knows someone who’s been helped by Ann” - according to the Lib. Dem. pre-election leaflet. This situation needs her urgent attention - but will it get it?
Perhaps she could also try to improve the standard of communication between Council departments and local people.

A further thought - why not contact BBC WM or Midlands Today? A bit of publicity might do the trick, and these lads certainly deserve some limelight with such a terrific record this season.
Things tend to get sorted a little quicker when there’s some media attention - or am I just cynical?…

As a point of reference for all concerned, JKS had not made any pitch bookings beyond Sunday 27th April for any team other than the two re-arranged Seniors fixtures (in the Stadium) which is why the posts were removed.
The Management of JKS are well aware that - as manager of all the Football facilities on the Vale - I have gone out of my way to accomodate all their changes of fixtures and additional requirements this season, but I can’t make arrangements for things they don’t tell me about!
