Staff at Sainsbury’s in Castle Vale have chosen to support the John Taylor Hospice as their main charity this year. Ray Woods, spokesman for the League of Friends of the Hospice, says that they want to raise funds and increase the number of volunteers working at the hospice and in fundraising. They are currently holding taster days for those interested in helping to support the bereaved. People who are interested in attending should call the Volunteer Office at the Hospice on 465 2016 or call the main Hospice number, 0121 465 2000.

  • It’s a brilliant cause but it sounds as though they are getting a lot of support at the moment from Castle Vale such as from CVCHA.
How about supporting the smaller companies or funding something us elderly rely on such as your recently published feature about the very much needed purple bus which i think is run by local company Merlin?
