Hundreds of people visited Centre Park today to sample a wide variety of free entertainment at the annual Party in the Park. At its peak in mid-afternoon, there were around 600 people in the park; the five and a half hour event attracted over 1,500 visitors in all. Birmingham’s Lord Mayor Michael Wilkes officially opened the show.  Tamworth rock band Fully Loaded played three sessions from the main stage. Falconry and sheep dog demonstrations, gladiator games, soccer challenges , donkey rides and stalls proved popular enough to give the occasion more of a carnival atmosphere, in contrast to last year’s event when the music theme dominated the afternoon.

  • Hello from Fully Loaded to everyone involved in the Castle Vale Carnival yesterday. We had a great time in the sunshine and were very pleased to see that everyone who attended also seemed to be having a great time and we were happy to be a small part of that. We did notice a bit of bopping going on in the crowd, and especially the two guys at the end who joined us for Johnny B Goode and Caroline. They even went and got some air guitars to join in. Great sports.

Thank you very much to the organisers for all their hard work in arranging the event – the behind the scenes volunteers don’t always get the recognition they deserve – our best wishes to you and thank you for inviting us to play.

Hope to see you again in the future.

All the guys from Fully Loaded.
