Ofsted have published a report of an inspection undertaken at Castle Vale School on 26th January.
Robert Barbour, from Her Majesty’s Inspection Team, described the school’s progress as inadequate.
He says that students are doing better in English, maths and science this year than they were last, but says that standards across the school are not rising fast enough.
“There is at present no substantive subject leader in any of the core subjects of English, mathematics or science. While acting subject leaders are working hard in these roles, the lack of permanent subject leadership is restricting improvement in teaching quality,” says the report.
Mr Barbour observes that some teaching is good, but notes that student behaviour is a problem in some lessons, and that some teachers are not following the disciplinary code.
“In three lessons observed, behaviour was poor and the learning of students was inadequate because of persistent low-level disruption,” he says.

If we twin this article with the recent flurry of comments about your report: “League tables make grim reading for Castle Vale School”
We made conclude that there is a pattern.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
The school is at the bottom of the league tables. It is making ‘inadequate’ progress in improving this. It does seem to be one thing after another with this school.
when is something going to be done about this failing school. does the LEA not listen.
No the LEA don’t give a monkeys. They’d rather get shut than actually do anything, and thhe staff aren’t allowed to comment!
The school has been on a downward trend for the past few years; it’s been getting closer to going into special measures year by year. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, problems that are as plain as the nose on your face have been ignored time and again.

At last: someone saying it as it is! Hence the lines of x’s which show you are correct!
