City Hospital restrictions lifted on most wards; Sandwell still closed

Following the norovirus outbreak, visiting restrictions have been lifted on all wards at City Hospital, except D17 which will remain closed over the weekend.
Visitors are asked not to go into the hospital if they have suffered diarrhoea and vomiting, or have been in close contact with anyone with symptoms, over the last 48 hours. Visitors are also reminded to ensure they wash their hands before and after visiting the ward. Hand washing stations are situated all along the main corridor.
SandwellHospitalremains closed to visitors. Members of the public are urged not to go to Sandwell’s Accident and Emergency Departments if they have diarrhoea and vomiting symptoms, unless they need emergency medical treatment. Instead, they should telephone their GP or NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
People suffering with symptoms who are due to attend the hospital for an appointment should telephone the hospital first.
