Good Citizen Awards for CCTV Staff

West Midlands Police have presented two Merlin Security Staff with Good Citizen Awards for their contribution to the arrest of car thieves in Castle Vale earlier this year. The thieves had stolen a car in Birmingham, and had driven into Castle Vale, where the CCTV cameras picked them up and directed local police to them.

JKS have moved into top position of Division Two of the Midland Combination following a 5-0 thrashing of high-flying Enville. JKS are level on points with Worcester, with four matches in hand.
In the Premier Division, Castle Vale lost 3-0 at second placed Coleshill Town.

Brum 15th on ‘most likely to be burgled’ list

Birmingham, Britain’s second largest city, comes 15th in the league table of places where homes are most likely to be burgled, according to figures released yesterday by Endsleigh Insurance. Woman arrested

A 49 year-old Castle Vale woman was arrested on Tuesday morning following allegations of financial irregularities. Police have confirmed that the woman has been given police bail until May 6th, while further investigations are being carried out.

Stop cold callers campaign

   Residents of Castle Vale might be interested to learn of a new scheme being introduced in three areas of Birmingham designed to stop traders from calling at peoples’ doors to sell their wares. ‘No cold calling’ zones are being introduced in Yardley Fields, Sparkhill and Garretts Green to reduce doorstep crime and tackle rogue traders.
