Treble for JKS

JKS finished their soccer season in style, winning the Challenge Vase by beating Greenhill 3-0 at Stratford Town Football Club’s new stadium. JKS have completed an impressive treble this season: Division Two champions and two cups.

More success for young snooker star Mitchell

Mitchell Mann won the prestigious snooker tournament, the Eckington Open, in Sheffield, beating off 60 other players from around the country. The Castle Vale 16 year-old only dropped five frames on route to the final, winning the first two rounds without conceding a single frame.

A 5-0 victory at Continental crowned JKS as Midland Combination Division Two winners. Runners-up Dosthill trail the Vale youngsters by four points; both teams have one match left this season.

Weather washes out cup final

JKS will have to wait a while before adding to their silverware collection this season. Last night’s Challenge Vase final at Stratford Town’s stadium against Greenhill was washed out, following a series of very heavy downpours. Another local fixture suffered the same fate, while the match at Chasetown was abandoned after 50 minutes.

Point deduction for Vale FC

  The Midland Combination have deducted a point from premier division side Castle Vale FC for fielding a player while he was under suspension. The club have also received a censure from the County Football Association.

Cup success for JKS

JKS won the second leg of their cup semi-final against BNJS Mann by a single goal. They won the tie  by 6-0, having put five past their opponents in the first leg.
