Erdington Labour members will now make the final vote from the list of four drawn up by the National Executive Committee. The postal voting closes on 26th February, and the new prospective parliamentary candidate hopes to be in place to begin his campaign by 1st March.
The Labour Party is not revealing how many people applied for the position, and will not give names of any candidates who did not make it to the shortlist.
