Injury causes Jag match to be abandoned

The referee abandoned the Castle Vale Jags versus Highcroft match today when an ambulance had to be called for a player who had a suspected broken ankle.
There were 19 minutes of the match remaining, when a challenge between a Jags and a Highcroft player caused the injury. The referee said after the match that he felt it had been a fair challenge. He decided to abandon the game after consulting with the two teams. The player could not be moved without a stretcher, and the teams had to wait for an ambulance to arrive. The score at the time was 8-0 to the Jags. The referee is expecting the Sutton and District Sunday League to accept that as the final scoreline. Jaguars are top of the premier division; Highcroft are tenth (out of twelve).
