Historic FA Cup season for Castle Vale

Castle Vale has two teams in this year’s FA Cup, for the first time ever.
In their first ever season in the competition, Castle Vale JKS have been drawn away at Ledbury in the Extra Preliminary Round to be played on 14th August.
Castle Vale FC also have an away fixture – a tough match at Coventry Sphinx.
The first three preliminary rounds have been drawn today. If JKS can win their debut FA Cup encounter, they will play at home against Wednesfield or Bolehall Swifts in the next round.
Not so lucky Castle Vale FC will have another away fixture if they get through the first match. They will have to travel to Bridgnorth or Highgate.
759 clubs, including the superstar teams from the Premier League, have entered this season’s competition.

The opening rounds of the FA Vase, for amateur clubs, have also been drawn today. JKS will play Anstey Nomads at Farnborough Road on the weekend of 4th September. Castle Vale also have a home draw – another tough one for them – against Stone Dominoes.
549 clubs from across the country have entered the FA Vase.
