Armed police raid Vale home

Armed police raided a home in Orchard Meadow Walk, Castle Vale, yesterday. The house has now been boarded up after a police search. One local resident has said that it involved a drugs raid.
Another resident has said: “There was a massive armed (sub machine guns) police raid on a house in Orchard Meadow Walk yesterday at lunchtime. Both doors of the house were smashed. There were many police vehicles and CID officers involved. Farnborough Road was closed both ends. Many people are asking. With recent events in the Newcastle area, folk are nervous about guns in the neighbourhood. Do we have armed criminals in Orchard Meadow Walk or was it massive overkill on the police part?”

  1. CONCERNED RESIDENT

WHAT IS GOING ON ,ON OUR ESTATE.
BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS.
I THOUGHT CVCHA ARE SUPPOSED TO VETT THESE PEOPLE,I HAVE NOTICED A DECLINE OVER THE LAST 4/5 YEARS THE ONLY ANSWER YOU GET OFF THE CVCHA
IS THAT THEY HAVE TO GIVE 50% OF THE EMPTY PROPERTIES TO COUNCIL WAITING LIST.
US LAW ABIDING CITIZENS WOULD LIKE SOME ANSWERS.
IF CVCHA CONNOT MANAGER OUR ESTATE PROPERLY
    ITS TIME TO LOOK ELSEWHERE.

    CONCERNED RESIDENT.

  2. Armed Police on the vale!
I do believe armed police also surrounded a car on park lane early yesterday morning.
I also would like to know what the cvcha are doing about all the dealing that goes on. its not a nice place to live anymore.

  3. this problem has been going on for years.
before i could say certain areas but now it all over the estate.
unemployed people driving flash cars its not rocket science.
lets see housing mangers on foot patrol from a over staffed housing cvcha team. overpaid.
over to you mr Peter Richmond.

  4. Interesting reading from above ,
i would like to know if the tenants are going to be evicted immediately
or a long drawn out court case which would take years.
i do believe housing officers go round checking peoples gardens
would it not be better to check out what goes on behind closed doors.
    Best regards

    paul

  5. How frightening for the residents of st. athans croft.

  6. I agree with the comments from concerned resident. this is not how it used to be. you could go round the vale 10 years ago and know nearly everyone one way or another, now they are letting anyone in and you dont know or trust anyone. After all the regeneration the vale, will be a hell hole in years to come. There are existing vale residents who cant even get a place on here, but the cvcha are opening the doors to anyone. They might as well put an advert in the european newspapers offering residents from eastern europe asylum on the vale. us origional residents are the outcasts now. Residents of the vale, its time for us to stand up to the cvcha, lets have our old castle vale back.

  7. as you can see some angry residents.
its time for cvcha to get from around the desks and have a good
look at our estate before their join the unemployement queue

    40 years a resident!!!!!!!!!.
mike sharp or lynda clinton wont save you.

  8. Oh dear once again it is some one elses fault. I saw the car surrounded yesterday mid morning, I did not see a gun. but that does not mean there wasn,t one. Why is it CVCHA fault, yes they rent the houses but what a hue and cry there would be if they vetted too much. Yes the estate is failing again, Green bags on the street for 13 days, cars parked indiscriminately, rubbish left everwhere, teenagers allowed to roam all night, to name just a few. After 44 yrs Iv’e seen it all. And it will not improve till residents take pride in their surroundings.

  9. Ann Froggatt

Well said June. The people who turned this estate into a place worth living in didn’t sit around moaning – they worked hard, for nothing , and got things done. Unless these anonymous accusers are prepared to do their bit too, their finger-pointing and blaming are meaningless.

  10. Please please please, can we have a bit of a reality check here? Currently, Castle Vale is one of the safest places to live in Birmingham, FACT. This is because the Police DO take action such as has been reported earlier. Do we stop flying because armed police patrol the airports now? I think not, we take great comfort from it.
Most Eastern European countries are members of the European Union whose citizens have rights to move freely between member states, they do not need to seek asylum, FACT.
Before the regeneration of Castle Vale and the existence of CVCHA, when the Council ran the estate, the housing was in a dilapidated state; packs of dogs roamed the estate; unemployment was far higher than it is today; taxis wouldn’t pick up or drop people in Castle Vale, average life expectancy was 7 years lower than it is today; all of these are FACTS. Whilst I agree that seeing armed Police on Castle Vale is disturbing, lets keep things in proportion please, the good old days weren’t so good after all if you look at the facts.

  11. well ian i have been on this estate longer than yourself plus
i dont work for the cvcha please dont try and justify your job.
please dont forget you are working for us residents of castle vale.
we must be listerned to we have a voice.

    ann
we remember H.A.T wasted millions and golden handshakes.
    this will not happen again.

  12. I think you all need to get a reality check!
The vale is going back to the state it was in before the HAT took over. You have only got to take a walk around the vale and see the state of some of the houses. Dealers on almost every corner! Out of control children! Rubbish piling up waiting for collection. Who wants to see armed police on the vale? I for one certainly dont.

  13. Which Castle Vale is this? Come on people it aint that bad lol. Ok, we have problems with the youth being out until all hours, I get woken up quite frequently on a Friday night. But to say the Vale is going back to the way it was, is a bit of an exaggeration! Besides, how boring would it be, living in a place that has no crime what so ever? Nothing to moan about… You guys would hate it! lol

  14. David Townsend

The good thing about all these anonymous messages is that it gives me a heading for my next piece for the Vale Mail – thanks to everyone concerned! I head it Anonymous but I’ll put my name to it!

  15. Ann Froggatt

You have chosen to remain anonymous, but you seem to expect your accusations and smears to be taken seriously. Sorry, but if you don’t have the courage to give your name, why should anyone treat what you say as anything more than mud-slinging?

  16. I have read most of the above comments with total disbelief! And I agree with an earlier comment about blaming everyone else – are we really living in a blame culture now? Residents of Castle Vale don’t want to see armed police on the streets? Would you rather have had them nicely, quietly go and knock the door & risk everyone’s safety including all the residents who live in the vicinity? And as for blaming who has provided the accommodation – 2 things. If this had been a house bought through an estate agent, would they have been to blame too? Do estate agents vet their potential buyers? Food for thought. Secondly, people are bemoaning the “type” of person who is now moving onto the Vale. How many people who have lived here for years have had maybe a family member who is a bad apple or a child’s partner who turns out to be undesirable or one of their offspring go astray? All through no fault of their own. Should they all be evicted too? As for the state of the Vale, green bags left lying around? Whose responsiblity is that? The residents who dump them perhaps?
Maybe all who have left a message decrying the state of the Vale & what an horrendous place it now is to live, should do a homeswap to an inner city area for a week or two in any major city. Where the residents have had to live for years with fear, gun crime, drug dealing, delapidated living conditions, lack of work and no hope. Kind of puts things into perspective don’t you think?

  17. Do any of the above actually live next to a dealer? Until they do can i suggest they stop going on about the vale being a wonderful place to live. They need to get from behind their curtains, take a walk around the vale and see what really goes on!

  18. Ann Froggatt

Thanks for your voice of sanity (what a pity you felt you had to remain anonymous) amongst all the Sun and Daily Mail – inspired fear and venom. As far as I can see the Vale contains a typical cross-section of current society, but nothing worse than that and plenty that’s better.

  19. Ann Froggatt

You have the solution – we have a police station so report your dealer neighbour. No-one’s saying the Vale’s wonderful, but neither is it dreadful, and it’s certainly a million times better than pre-1994 when national newspapers cited it as one of the most appalling estates in England .

  20. sandra mcnally

trouble with castle vale there are kids out later at night and they should not walking round they should go home at right because its be on joke now there are just too many adult and kids out later at night round about 11.30pm till about 1.15am in morning some thing has be done about it cvcha not that good think lot of people on vale dont like them they wish they had hat back

  21. So…..would you like CVCHA to impose a curfew so that all their tenants and all of the people who own their own homes are off the streets by 11.30 p.m.???!! Not even the police can impose restrictions like that! Only a court could and you’d have to have broken the law to have a curfew imposed! This is a housing estate, not a prison camp!!

  22. Why not let Ann Froggatt and June Freeth run the vale!

  23. They seem to think they have the answers to all the problems!

  24. Ann Froggatt

Well thanks for that generous offer, I’d give it some serious thought, except – why would I want to do anything for anyone who just sits on their backside moaning?

  25. sandra mcnally

ok so you like walking round street shouting and keeping people i dont think that is what is wrong withparent on castle vale they have no control over there kid that trouble bye way i not from here i use live in hayes middlesex ok way dont just shout up ok see from my point view

  26. sandra mcnally

i am not moaning ann froggatt i being on castle vale nearly 9 years so way should anybody put up with kids shouting and other thing is parent got no control over there kids thathow parents get in trouble think about take that from my point view

  27. hi when i move herein 2002 october 4th my mum told me about castle vale what it was like 10 years ago mum said it was bad on castle vale and other people i ask have told me castle vale has not change there still lot of people on here still take drugs something need to change i dont think people like way cvcha deal with thing they are going about wrong way if something dont get done then staff of cvcha are not going have job for long

  28. sainburys think about having greggs on castle vale think we are going lose subway it because trhey are not doing that well thats because there not getting customer

  29. Pete Richmond

I do not usually put posts on the Vale Mail website as I believe this is a place for residents to comment without the interference of someone like me as a paid member of staff. I know I am not usually on the estate at the weekend but I am still interested, and worry about what goes on.

Firstly I would want to say how sorry I am that people had to face the trauma of armed police in Orchard Meadow Walk – I know people who live there; it must have been very frightening.

Clearly from the comments made, people are not happy with some of the work CVCHA is doing on the estate and want to tell us we should be doing something different. That’s great – CVCHA only operates on Castle Vale and has a majority of local residents on the Management Board. Castle Vale is one of the few places in the country where residents can have so much power – if they want to.

Sadly, over the past few years we have been struggling to get new people to come forward and take over from the residents who set up CVCHA over 10 years ago. It is clear from the comments posted that there are a good number of people with the passion and ideas to improve CVCHA so please come forward, put up for election and get involved.

If you don’t have the time or interest to be a Board member then join some of the other groups we have to scrutinise services and agree how services should be delivered. For example, we currently have places on our group to review the way we allocate homes.

My only one word of caution is to say that CVCHA is only a small part of Castle Vale. We own around 60% of the homes in Castle Vale – the rest of the estate are homeowners. The City Council own the roads, paths, public alleys and open spaces. Our main source of income comes from rents and represent a fraction of the money held by the council, police, health services and government that should also contribute to Castle Vale. We will work as hard as we can on the Vale but CVCHA is not the answer to all the ills of the world.

In short – thanks for the comments, some are not pleasant but they have been heard. We can make Castle Vale a great place but we must work together so please get involved and work with us.

  30. Well I must say I’m pleased to see armed police on Castle Vale.

If there are people that have been in involved in a casino robbery and have a gun on there premises then I for one are glad the police have sorted the problem out.

We all need to get a grip on reality it’s 2010 things like this unfortunately are getting more common place, guns, drugs and illegal activity are on the increase, I think what people need to take into consideration and comfort from is that it has been sorted out, I wold rather see armed police than armed criminals.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not condoning any of this behavior what so ever but we can’t stick out heads in the sand and believe Castle Vale is some sort of haven where nothing wrong goes on, yes things are not perfect but we don’t have drug dealers on practically every street corner as previously said.

This sort of thing happens up and down the country, what we do have to take pride in is that we have a landlord (CVCHA) that cares about the whole well-being of the estate and the future of it, so I’m sorry but I disagree with the stick it has taken over the last few days, we have a estate we can be proud of if people will just get off there bottoms and get involved in improving it.

CVCHA have as Peter said many ways to get involved and make a change so come on do it.

  31. the cvcha is a cowboy organisation.( edited by Vale Mail) if your face dont fit, nothing gets done round here. cvcha are only in it for the money ……….(edited by Vale Mail for legal reasons)

  32. above post edited because it was true and you cannot speak the truth. freedom of speech isnt allowed on the vale and the vale mail is owned by cvcha!!!!

  33. P Doff, the Vale Mail welcomes your opinions, but it is not a site for people who wish to slag off others. The Vale Mail is a fair and non-bias news organisation that operates within the guidelines of the law. Even if it means editing your comment!

  34. The post was edited because is was illegal. It referred to an identifiable group of people and defamed them. I did not, as publisher, have the legal defence of justification because I cannot prove the truth of the allegation.
I value free speech, but not at all costs.
As for independence, you will just have to trust the editor. I value Vale Mail’s independence – from all organisations, pressure groups and individuals.

  35. the vale mail is just another example of the level of corruption and lies that plagues the estate. (edited by Vale Mail). I never actually named them but if you want me to, i shall, maybe to a more reliable news source!

  36. The Defamation Act makes it clear that you can still defame people even if you do not name them. Your comment was defamatory, and I have deleted it. The group is small enough to be identifiable, and any one of the individuals could take legal action. I have deleted part of your response, too, for the same reason.

  37. the trouble with castle vale is that cvcha dont know whos taking reals drugs whos dealing in castle vale but on abingdon way

  38. I have lived on Castle Vale all 21 years of my life and believe that what i was told about the police raid last week, this estate seems to going from bad to worse. It has been along time since I have felt scared to walk out of my home at night alone. I cant even walk to the local shop without seeing a big gang and think its a disgrace. These kids should be made to get a job and shouldn’t be able to intimidate people the way they do and wheres the police NOWHERE TO BE SEEN !

As for this matter with the police raid, it just about sums up the scum that live of castle vale. I feel ashamed to say i live on castle vale with whats going on and the cvcha don’t seem to do anything about it. I would like to see all the drug dealers evicted with immediate effect and people that WORK for a living offered a place to live on Castle Vale.

I have been on the waiting list for 3 years for a place and get told the other day but a 27 year old that has never worked a day in her druggie life that been offered a 3 bedroom house.

This estate needs to change and change for the better !

  39. Recently discovered exactly why my previous posts have been censored on here. It turns out that not only are there board members living around the particular area of castle vale that was mentioned in my previous posts but at least one director of Headline Media (aka Vale Mail) lives there too. Corruption does indeed exist on the vale! Maybe the real media, need to be informed of what is going on around here, then maybe the cvcha and its offshoots, the vale mail etc can be closed down and decent people can live better lives.

  40. Ann Froggatt

I can’t understand why people are so keen to get housed on the Vale, if it’s such a terrible place to live that they’re ashamed to tell anyone. It just doesn’t make sense. When this estate was really bad people were queuing to get rehoused anywhere else but the Vale.
The only way to get drug dealers off the estate is for as many people as possible to report them to the Police and the CVCHA, and keep doing so until there’s enough evidence for conviction and /or eviction.

  41. mr p doff you have a cross to bear with cvcha, which is upto you to take up with the relevant persons.
you can’t blame all the ills of castle vale on vale mail etc when there is a police station the size it is at the top end of castle vale.
use your freedom of speech and knock there door.

  42. P Doff… If that is indeed your real name. I am with you when you say that there is a level of corruption on the vale, but the vale mail is definitely not to be bundled in that group.

  43. how can cvcha give 3 bedroom house to drugger that is so wrong when that other person was waiting for and they being on waiting list for 3 year whats is wrong with cvcha they are not doing job that good i can understand how people feel now so many people on castle vale hate it

  44. Ann Froggatt

So this woman has been judged, found guilty, and condemned even before she moves here. Hasn’t it occurred to anyone that a decent home and a fresh start might be just what she needs to be able to try and turn her life around? This holier-than-thou, I’m-more-deserving-than-you attitude is sickening. Heaven help her; clearly no-one else here will. And by the way, congratulations to the CVCHA for their enlightened approach.
There’s a saying “There, but for the grace of God, go I” and another, ” Judge not, that YOU be not judged”. Think on.

  45. In answer to the comment about the big police station at the top of the vale, has anyone ever tried knocking on the door to speak to them, they are never there, or just dont answer the door,

  46. when you do manage to get into the police station you will probably find that you can only speak to a civilian on the desk. from experience they wasnt much help!

  47. this is the kind of thing that needs bringing to the attention of cvcha. the police work for us we pay there wages.

  48. you are so write there but i dont work it not going get better on castle vale with seven people susipson of armed robber of casino everybody on castle vale very upset and do not feel safe anymore on castle vale cvcha have do something about it now there person name p doff seem be not nisa person i think he live on castle vale

  49. how do you go about being elected onto these groups (ref . peter richmonds comments on 18th july)

  50. i think june freeth should take over castle vale get fid of druggers on castle vale every part of castle vale smest of drugs now something needs be done

  51. Give CVCHA a ring 0121 748 8100, I’m sure they will be more that happy to help out.

  52. Is this not local people taking the lead on local services??? It’s not illegal or corrupt. It has been proven that where this happens, services are far better than if no local people were board members / directors.

Just take a trip to some other estates and see what Castle Vale would really be like without this!

If you don’t like living here, then move. There is a big long waiting list, let someone, who really wants to be here have a chance and may want to help out – unlike you.

  53. OBVSSS ur from vale u cant spell

  54. I HAVE AT LEAST 4 DEALERS ON MY STREET!! I CANT EVEN WALK OUT OF MY DOOR WITHOUT SMELLING IT OR BEING ASKED IF I WANT TO BUY SOME OR BEING SLAGGED OFF… IT THINK ITS DISCUTING AND I CANT BELIEVE THAT AT CASTLE VALE POLICE STATION YOU HAVE TO RING A BELL TO GET IN!! AND THEN THEY KEEP U ON THE DOOR AND DNT EVEN INVITE YOU IN AND THE POLICE NO WHO THESE DEALERS ARE BUT NEVER DO ANYTHING!! AND AS FOR THE CAMERAS DNT EVEN GET ME STARTED!! NONE OF THEM WORK ITS A JOKEEEE THE POLICE NEED TO GIVE THEIR HEADS A WOBBLE AND SORT THEM SELFS OUTT!!

  55. i have 4 people on (road name deleted – editor) smoke drug and they dont care that all think about is drugs some one people on (road name deleted – editor) there mum smoke drug too she come round see her daughter i think its so wrong

  56. The policing on castle vale is a disgrace, all they want to do is keep there figures down. How intimidating must the old people feel when they want to go out of an evening to be faced with gangs of up to 30 kids. What happend to the orders to disperse these gangs, and what happend to the alcohol free zone, what a joke.
What do we do as residents to protect ourselves and our properties, phone the police, all they will do is issue you with a crime number for damage to your property.

  57. cvcha the police need to answer these issues. don’t just ask people to turn upto meetings etc as they are at the coalface of the problem and are more then likely scared of repercussions. this foreum surely tells you that there are major issues on our estate that only the police can solve and not just monthly meetings.

  58. i have to shut my doors and windows to escape the smell of drugs being used by my neighbours.
its no good to say inform the cvcha because all they say is record dates and times of when its happening.
cvcha and local police are a joke!!!!

  59. the only thing the police seem to crack down on is people drinking on the streets
it does make you wonder why we pay council tax!

  60. i think people crack down on normol people just out side front door smoking drug there one that need be taking way what is wrong police on castle vale they dont walk throught each road they mite see people smoking stroug drug get them nick for that

  61. trouble with police and cvcha they cant see whats going on behind there backs the people need walk round each road see lots of people smoking hard drug need take them down of castle vale

  62. trouble is cvcha cant see there 2 people on (road name deleted – editor) dealing drug and 5 people on (road name deleted – editor) smoking drugs something need be done about it

  63. with all due respect, i dont think anything will be done as there is no evidence that cvcha board members live near to abingdon way and thats what you need, if you want anything done on castle vale. just ask the residents of cadbury drive, who recently had an alleyway closed overnight, no questions asked. all is fair on castle vale…….not!

  64. you should take look on (road name deleted – editor) because there are five tenent on (road name deleted -editor) smoking hard drug some need be none about it housing office need knock on everybody door on (road name deleted – editor) castle vale because there are 2 people on (road name deleted- editor) dealing drug behind close doors

(Note from Editor: The name of the road has been deleted because the accusation is defamatory. The people who are alleged to be committing the crime could take out a legal action for defamation unless we could prove it is true. And the other people who live in the road – who may not be involved – could take out a legal action because they have been defamed by association, even though you have not named them in your comment.)

  65. there are 2 people dealing drugs on (edited) and 2 other neighbours are going in two her house get drugs on (edited) castle vale

  66. Scott Baldwin

Hi people, Steve Clayton from the CVCHA will be a guest on my show this Wednesday, on 107.5 fm Switch Radio, between 3pm-4pm, to discuss the posts on this site. I am also hoping to get someone from the West Midlands police on the show as well. I welcome any questions that you wish me to ask them on the show. Email your questions news@switchradio.co.uk

  67. wish people wake up because there are two people on (edited) dealing drug and other two neighbour going in other neighbours house theres dealing drugs and 5 neighbours on (edited) smoking drugs make sure cvcha housing office get this messages

  68. What I would like to know is why on earth has this family been allowed to move back into this house? For a start it is 4 bedroomed with only 3 children living there and for a second why should they still have the priviledge of living amongst us decent neighbours. The irony of their little son playing outside with toy guns is beyond comment too!!

  69. Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t realise that the trial had already taken place and that they had been found guilty.

  70. confused resident

The reply from the CVCHA will probably be “they have got to live somewhere”. They use the 4th bedroom to store the guns and drugs!!!!!

  71. Ian guns drugs and cash were found its not rocket science I’d like to see how you would react to this in your street with your kids playing outside !!

  72. yet again the answer from cvcha will be
    ” innocent unil proven guilty”
    cvcha are a joke!!!!

  73. concerned resident

just what are you talking about!
drugs and guns were found at the address.
    typical cvcha answer!

  74. Ann Froggatt

“Innocent until proved guilty” is a fundamental right under English law. Do you want CVCHA to break the law?

  75. ann…even for you that is a stupid comment. not sure if you have children or grandkids or great grand kids for that matter but would you be happy knowing that guns and drugs were found next door to you? i think not, so end this silly talk. its do-gooders like you that bring society down. we need to fight back against the scum not defend them. as for cvcha breaking the law, they have many times before, they just haven’t been found out, so think on!!!

  76. No it’s people who break the law that brings society down, and what you are advocating is breaking the law. The English justice system may have its faults but the alternatives are far far worse.

  77. Ann Froggatt

I’ve an idea, Ivor – cut out the personal abuse, think straight, and don’t imagine taking the vigilante line will solve anything. Fight, yes – but WITHIN the law, otherwise you’ll set the worst of all examples to kids.

  78. so what are you saying the police just raided the house with guns just for the sake of it!
    dont talk stupid.
the police would have good reason to raid a house.
some people really do talk twaddle somtimes.

  79. oh here we go again!
would you by any chance work for the cvcha!

  80. Ann Froggatt

To Anonymous, 5 August, 11.12 pm:
No, I don’t work for CVCHA, nor any other organisation here. I don’t work on the Vale, I don’t belong to any clubs, associations, committees or groups on the Vale – I just live here.
If you feel that CVCHA are hiding behind the law so that they can avoid taking action against these people, then take it up with CVCHA. The fact remains that “innocent until proved guilty” is the bedrock of English law, and who knows, some of us might some day be glad of that fact.
If these undesirable tenants are to be moved out then the very fact that a gun, connected to a robbery, was found in their home ought to be good enough evidence to evict them for anti-social behaviour. Perhaps the CVCHA could be open enough to explain if this is not the case, and why not.

  81. I have lived here for 5 years in the last year we had to fight for 6 months to get a basic repair done, then we had the kids throwing snowballs at our windows and car with the school saying it wasn’t their problem and the CVCHA sending out wardens for 5 minutes before the kids got let out (loads of help thanks *sarcasm*) when we tried to take a little pride in our surroundings the kids wrecked it and we were told we could put a fence up at our expense to stop them running through the front garden. We put locks on the shared garden letting everyone who lives in the block how to get in to stop it being used as a cut through/play area for kids and we’re now being penalised for this my worry is that with it being constantly open as CVCHA have never managed the upkeep on it people will just start breaking into the properties through there.
I grew up in Moss Side Manchester and Castle Vale is heading that way with areas you cant walk down, kids abusing people, stuff getting wrecked the racing on the spit fire island. Go on tell me that you can only change it by making the effort maybe you can afford to replace stuff every 10 minutes when its been wrecked but I can’t if I could I wouldn’t live here!

  82. Take the law into your own hands. Thats the best way of dealing with things on castle vale. Teach the little ******** a lesson with a good beating. It never hurt anyone in the olden days it gave them respect

  83. The pearls of wisdom we get given are that ‘speaking’ to them just makes it worse….o..k.. then I’ll let the scum thats moved in round here recently do what they like, will let the chav kids run riot and will never have anything nice. Seriously I have had enough!

  84. i like the above comment fantastic!!!!!!
can i say if anybody is dealing drugs near you
    contact the police on crimestoppers.
each time the police visit dealers it gets logged and reported to cvcha .
make sure ruth miller manager of cvcha is aware.
or ian who has got the answers.
or phone ann froggatt shes knows it all.
    great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  85. Thank you, will raise with her the issues with the feral kids round here and see if she can get a fence put up meaning that I wont end up going to prison for chinning one of the little darlings.

  86. Thank you, we will raise it with Ruth Miller at least that way we’re being ignored by the top! See if we can get the front fenced off without us having to raise the money to do it which as I said before if I had a lot of money I wouldn’t be living here I work and once Ive paid my bills there is not alot left replacing stuff wrecked by feral chav kids is seriously annoying me these checks are not going ahead they were when we moved here but now….um how did the people round the corner who were raided and known to the police get in then?????

Don’t know if this is any help but last time we were targetted by feral kids, about 14 years ago, they were chucking stones, half-bricks etc. so we picked their stones up & chucked them back, then chased the little b******s. Our neighbour, another victim, went & stood outside their parents’ house for 30 minutes, saying nothing, just staring till the mother came out & asked why. She was told why. Neither of us got any more trouble. Eventually they were evicted.
How about getting a spray-can of red paint & the next time they trespass on your property, spray their shoes – nothing else, just shoes? It won’t come off easily, they’ll have to explain it to their parents … Just a thought; I don’t think it counts as assault & the little pests might think twice.

Another idea – how about growing a prickly hedge? It might take a while, but probably no longer than the CVCHA will take to get round to putting a fence up for you.
If you’re interested I have 6 or so holly seedlings in pots ( taken from our front garden – we’ve got sharp & prickly defensive hedges everywhere!) which you could have. If Clive doesn’t mind you could contact me via the ValeMail.

  89. can someone tell me how many staff work at the cvcha offices i have been told more staff than the city
    council.
their is a lady how lives by topcliffe house in court with cvcha at the moment when she wins the case
sunday papers will open the flood gates about the cvcha.
    then we can get rid.

  90. Hi Ann we’re in the flats so our front garden is just under our window there isnt anywhere to plant them.
We tried throwing them back before and got nowhere (police advice was not to as it may cause reprisals) and its not the kids from round here if it was we would already have gone to their parents. We are currently trying to get permission to put a fence up in front of our living room window offering a bit more privacy as then they wont be able to see us and their tiny little minds will forget.
We are in the process of joining the residents association in the hope we can do something to stop the estate from heading the way it is.

  91. i spoke to neighbour where the neighbour got there door kick in then they got taking to police station but woman i was taking to at bus stop she did not respe police knock on her neighbour she had no ideol they were like that and they being smoking drug and they got taking police on susipson of robber of casino just one person gotarrested and other person on bail

  92. People are forgeting years ago when the vale was a place that u couldnt walk and feel safe.So nothing hasnt changed all thats has changed is the fact that they have put up pretty houses. It dosent matter who the houses are offered to whether it is excisting or assylum.Instead of people sitting down dwelling on the raid they need to sort out other issues what is happening on the vale and address these issues to prevent anything else happening. What old castle vale do u want back the one were there was drug dealers ,racial abuse (which is still happening) constant street and house robberys or the one were people are affraid to come out (which is still happening)so stop going on like castle vale is perfect and its the fist time something like this has happened.

  93. I had a look on their site and its not clear how many people work there, id be interested in how many live on the vale………………………………

  94. they have a nice shiny new white plastic front door now. cvcha workmen in and out all the time grrrr gets me mad!!!

  95. Jack Cardboard

Having lived on the Vale since 1968, I am of the definite opinion that Castle Vale was 1000 times better when it was run by the council, and the HAT/CVCHA had not spread its puritanical tentacles accross the place.
They have thrown off proper Vale residents and imported vermin, also willingly overseeing the destruction of any community spirit the place ever had by assisting with the closure of all the pubs, because they diddn’t fit in with the image that the illegally elected board members had in mind.
The sooner all of these self interested idiots clear off and pass the running of the estate back to the local authority the better. All of the original residents could then reclaim the place and turn it back into the kind of place you could go for a pub crawl on a Saturday night again.

  96. Apparantly we can have a fence if we pay for it!! Kids threw full bottles of pop at the windows on Sunday night meaning I missed work yesterday thanks to the lack of sleep causing a migraine. I suppose I should go the Chav route and just get signed on the sick but I was brought up to believe you work you dont expect handouts.
    Am getting sick of this

  97. i HAVE LIVED HERE 4 YEARS AND FOR THE LAST 15 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN KEEPING LOGS OF MY NEIGHBOURS ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR I HAVE HANDED IN PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE,INDEPENDENT WITNESS STATEMENTS,OVER 20 INCIDENT DIARYS,MY OTHER NEIGHBOURS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS NEIGHBOUR,THERE ARE POLICE LOGS OF THEM FIGHTING AND SO FAR EXEPT A VISIT AND A “STOP IT”BY CVCHA NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.ALL THE RESIDENTS IN MY GROVE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH DRUG DEALS ON THE CARPARK,THE CONSTANT SMELL OF DRUGS MY NEIGHBOURS SONS FRIENDS 15-20 AT A TIME,FIGHTING AND PARTYING CONSTANTLY.i HAVE RECENTLY MADE A COMPLAINT TO CVCHA ABOUT THE WAY THEY ARE DEALING WITH THIS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD I DID HAVE A POINT AND MY COMPLAINT IS CLASSED AS “UPHELD” WE HAVE NOW BEEN ASSIGNED ANOTHER HOUSING OFFICOR TO DEAL WITH IT WHO IS DEFINATELY TRYING BUT MY POINT IS HOW LONG DO DECENT PEOPLE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR UNTIL REAL ACTION IS TAKEN?HOW MUCH PROOF AND EVIDENCE DO THEY WANT UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE?BEAR IN MIND THAT THROUGHOUT OUR COMPLAINTS WE THEN HAVE TO SUFFER THE BACKLASH OF OUR NEIGHBOUR.SOME OF THE OTHER RESEDENTS OF MY GROVE HAVE COMPLAINED ANONOMOUSLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE SEEN WHAT WE HAVE HAD TO PUT UP WITH FOR STANDING UPTO THESE PEOPLE.I THOUGHT WHEN I MOVED HERE THAT CVCHA WOULD NOT TOLERATE THIS SORT OF THING AND THAT WAS SOME OF THE APPEAL OF MOVING HERE BUT I HAVE BEEN SEVERLY LET DOWN BY THERE LACK OF ACTION.iF THEY WANT A NICE AREA THEN SURELY THEY NEED TOLET THESE PEOPLE KNOW THAT ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED WE ARE NOW AT OUR WITS END IT HAS MADE US ILL WE FEEL WE HAVE FOLLOWED ALL THERE ADVICE AND INSTRUCTION AND IT HAS RESULTED IN NOTHING BUT MISERY FOR US AND NOTHING FOR THE AFFENDER AND THIS IS WHY SOME PEOPLE DO NOT COMPLAIN BUT EVENTUALY THIS WAY OF NOT TAKING IT SERIOUS OR DEALING WITH IT WILL MAKE DECENT PEOPLE LEAVE AND GOOD ONES GO.

  98. FREETHINKINPEACEMAKER

AFTER READING ALL THE ABOVE COMMENTS I CANNNOT BELIEVE (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF P DOFF AND JACK) WHAT A SAD BUNCH OF MISERABLE MOANING PEOPLE LIVE ON HERE. I HAVE LIVED ON HERE FOR 40YRS ON AND OFF AND HAVE WATCHED THE CHANGES DEVELOP. AS A CHILD GROWING UP ON HERE IT MAY NOT NOT HAVE BEEN AS AESTHETICALLY PLEASING TO THE EYE, CRIME AND UNEMPLOYMENT WAS RIFE, HOMES AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS WERE IN NEED OF UPDATING, HOWEVER IN SAYING ALL THAT CASTLE VALE WAS A HAPPY-GO-LUCKY KIND OF PLACE EVERYONE GOT ON, THERE WAS DRUGS PROSTITUTION ETC BUT ON THE WHOLE IT WASN’T THAT BAD, WE HAD PLENTY OF PUBS AND A WELL EQUIPPED SHOPPING CENTRE. I HAVE TO AGREE ON THINGS BEING BETTER RUN WHEN BCC HAD THE ESTATE AS I FEEL THEY WERE MORE ABOUT THE PEOPLE AND HAD A FAR GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF WORKING CLASS LIFE COMPARED TO THE H.A.T AND C.V.C.H.A THAT SEEMS TO OPERATE ON MORE OF A BUSINESS LEVEL THAN A HOUSING LEVEL. THIS IS BECAUSE BCC IS A SERVICE PROVIDER THE OTHER TWO ARE CORPERATE BUSINESSES, YOU CAN LOOK UP BOTH, WITH THE CURRENT SCHEME OF THINGS GOING IN THIS COUNTRY AND ABROAD YOU WILL HERE THE WORD “CORPERATE” COME UP MUCH MORE NOW BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN EXPOSED HOW THESE CORPERATE COMPANIES OPERATE SOLEY ON A PROFIT BASIS. PROFIT FOR THEM AND THEY’RE SHARE HOLDERS WHO YOU CAN ALSO LOOK UP. THE POLICE TOO ARE A CORPERATE BUSINESS, HAVE YOU NOT NOTICED HOW IT HAS GONE FROM POLICE SERVICE TO POLICE FORCE, THEY ARE A PRIVATE COMPANY WORKING UNDER THE GOVERMENT ANOTHER PRIVATE CORPERATION. THAT IS WHY THINGS ARE GETTING WORSE NOT BETTER. WE ARE CONTROLLED BY EUROPEAN LAWS NOW NOT ENGLISH LAWS, COMMON LAW AND GODS LAWS. SO BEAR THIS IN MIND WHEN YOU CALL UPON CERTAIN SERVICES AND GET NO JOY. MONEY RULES, WHATEVER MAKES MONEY RULES THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS IT IS NOT GOING TO THE AVERAGE PERSON, BECAUSE WE ARE JUST A NUMBER A STATISTIC…..YOU MUST REMEMBER “THE PRISONER” WHAT SURPRISES ME IS THE FACT THAT IT IS MAINLY OLDER PERSONS STILL LIVING IN DAYS GONE BY ON HERE THAT ARE COMPLAINING.. . GAINING ALL INFORMATION FROM THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA WHO HAVE NOW BEEN EXPOSED AS ONE OF THE MAJOR PLAYERS IN LIES AND CORRUPTION. THEY BELIEVE WHAT GOVERMENT TELLS AND PROMISES THEM AND THEN GET ANGRY WHEN NOTHING HAPPENS. IF YOU DO NOT EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THE REALITY OF CURRENT AFFAIRS WITHOUT RELYING ON WHAT YOUR TOLD TO BE GOSPEL YOU MAY HAVE A DEEPER AND INFORMED OPINION ON ISSUES NOT JUST A BIASED UNEDUCATED GUESS…..THEN YOU CAN DO SOMETHING POSITIVE ABOUT IT INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING TO A PAPER RUN BY THE VERY CORPERATION YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH AND IN PARTENERSHIP WITH OTHER CORPERATIONS YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH. EDUCATION IS THE KEY, NOT CORPERATE SCHOOL EDUCATION BUT HUMAN EDUCATION!

  99. i am complaining about my lack of human rights on castle vale. having my every move watched by either neighbours or c.c.t.v is an infringement of my privacy, and i am beginning to liken my experience of living on here to that of a concentration camp. i intend to take this issue further and also make it public knowledge both on here and nationally.

  100. how come in muslim area they had they’re cameras taken down because they felt it discriminated them because of colour and race and invaded they’re privacy, well i feel the same! this estate has become very racist and right winged in its thinking..

  101. How dare you even BEGIN to think about likening your so-called “lack of human rights” to living in a concentration camp? You know NOTHING, so kindly stop parading your ignorance here.

  102. shut up you silly person. you are most likely to be an unemployed druggie like the rest of them on here.
if you are not doing anything wrong then you shouldnt fear the cctv.

  103. “shut up you silly person. you are most likely to be an unemployed druggie like the rest of them on here.
if you are not doing anything wrong then you shouldnt fear the cctv”.

what a mature response to have and what a informed assumption you hold of me, NOT! I think the best way to deal with this online gossip rag is to get it out into the open so that residents can see what really goes on, then we can get some real dialogue going not this one sided narrow minded rubbish you got going on. Coveted operating serves no positive purpose on here. Lets make it public and see what everyone else thinks about the issues raised as there is a huge lack of resident involvement on this estate and that needs to change!!

  104. “Coveted” operating? Covert, surely? There’s quite a difference! But then, few who post their garbled prejudices here can compose a sentence in decent English, so why should we who can take any notice?

  105. backward comes to mind!
