JKS FA Cup win without playing

JKS have been given a ‘walkover’ result in their FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round match against Ledbury, from Herefordshire, due to be played next Saturday. The FA have withdrawn Ledbury from the competition. Ledbury had played in the West Midlands Premier Division and finished in ninth place last season, but resigned from the league and dropped down three levels to the Herefordshire League Premier Division for the coming season. Further turmoil for the club has followed pre-season. A message left on the Ledbury Town website last week from the team manager says that he and his assistant have resigned following a dispute with the club chairman and other committee members over the payment of subs. The manager, Ben Symons, said: “at this level of football…. you do not pay subs.” Eight of the club’s first-team players also resigned at the meeting.
JKS will be awarded the £750 for progressing through to the next round, where they will meet either Wednesfield or Bolehall Swifts at the Farnborough Road Stadium on Saturday 28th August. A win in that round will be worth a further £1,500.
