FA Cup pitch inspection

JKS will find out tomorrow whether they can play their first ever FA Cup tie at Vale Stadium on Saturday. They are due to play Wednesfield at Farnborough Road, but the pitch may not be ready after a set of 48 water sprinklers was installed during the summer.
The pitch was re-seeded to cover the set of eight ‘tramlines’ caused by the new sprinkler system.
Simon Lane, from the Football Association, is coming to the stadium tomorrow to inspect the pitch and decide whether the Cup tie can go ahead. If he decides that the pitch is still unfit, JKS will have to make hasty alternative arrangements.
“We may have to ask Wednesfield if we can play the match at their place,” says JKS Chairman Graham Crocker. “At the moment, I’m confident. The surface looks like an end of season pitch with plenty of wear and tear, but I think it’s playable.”
