50 jobs for Vale: census collectors needed

Around 50 temporary jobs are available in Castle Vale for people who can help out with the 2011 census between March and June next year.
The jobs are paid at £7.41 per hour. Part time and full time work is available, and no formal qualifications are needed.
Applications are open from 1st November, and close after 2-3 weeks.
There are also posts available as Census co-ordinators.
Details and application forms are available  on: www.censusjobs.co.uk
Lucy Kenny,  Census Area Manager for Birmingham, says: “We are looking for people who are reliable and flexible. They will be paid a bonus if they complete the contract. Apart from the pay, this job will look very good on people’s cv.”
The Census collectors will be given a list of homes to visit and help people with completing their census forms.
The census takes place every ten years, and is an official record of the country’s population. The first census took place in 1801, and was designed to help the Government work out what sort of public services they would need to provide, and for how many.
