Jonathan Baker, Head of BBC Journalism College, presented Castle Vale students with awards at their annual awards ceremony this evening. Dozens of last year’s students returned to be given their GCSE certificates in a record breaking year for the school.
Headteacher Clive Owen said: “We think our curriculum is close to outstanding now.” He drew attention to the links with industries that the school has developed, including the clothing giants Next, Mitie Construction Company and Pinsent Masons Law Firm.
His upbeat message  to the students was: “If you want something in life, really go for it. The extras that we can give you at this school will count a lot on your CV when you go for a job or for further education.”

It sounds a very good evening.
Another excellent edition of the Valemail – I’ve just read it from cover to cover. The article about the children’s home was well put and brought tears to my eyes! Many thanks Clive for all your effort.
