Derek Kevan scores for England

Former England footballer, Derek Kevan is featured in this month’s Vale Mail. Derek, now aged 75, is a Chivenor House resident.
Click here to see a film archive of one of his goals, against Scotland in 1957. England won 2-1. Kevan scored England’s first goal. Duncan Edwards, who was killed the following year in the Munich air crash, scored the second.

Thank you not only for this note but also the good interview with Derek in the recent Vale Mail. I remember seeing Duncan Edwards (any relation?) when he was a schoolboy playing for Dudley and he was outstanding. My lasting memory of him was seeing him at Wembley playing for England with the likes of Stanley Matthews when they beat Scotland – 7-2 I think the score was – one England player Wilshaw scored 4. Thank you for another excellent editor of the Vale Mail covering all ages and aspects of life on the Vale. We are thankful to live here!
