Armed youths arrested after City shopper incident


Four youths, one armed with a gun, the other three with knives, were overcome and arrested by police in Corporation Street in the City Centre at 1.30pm this afternoon.
Police had been alerted after a woman had complained that she had been the victim of a jewellery snatch. Police surrounded the youths who became violent and lashed out at officers.
An 18-year-old, two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old, all males, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possessing a firearm and knives.

  1. I no longer shop in the city centre. There have been several gun-related crimes there in the past few years. Birmingham seems to have been turned into the Wild West. I’d rather go shopping in quieter towns, such as Lichfield, where I feel safe.

  2. years ago town used to be good its too rough now people push past you at the market and try to snatch your bag i dont go there now i dont trust it
