Suspended sentence for drunk driver


A 41 year-old Castle Vale man has been given a 12 week prison sentence , suspended for 12 months for driving under the influence of alcohol. Birmingham Magistrates heard that he had an “extremely high level of alcohol” in his body at the time of the offence, he was driving erratically, and had previous offences related to alcohol misuse. He was driving without insurance, and refused to give a blood sample. He was ordered to pay costs of £105, and was banned from driving for 32 months.
