St Edmund Campion School is celebrating their best ever set of GCSE results. 50% of their students achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths, up by 2% compared with last year.
Almost 70% of students achieved at least a ‘C’ grade in English and almost 60% did so in Maths.Individual successes include:
- Zola Maboyi who achieved 12 A Grades with three at A*.
- Sandra Porteous achieved 10 Grade A’s including three at A*.
- Shanae Munn achieved 8 Grade A’s including two A*.
- Eilish Staunton achieved 9 Grade A with one A*.

Castle Vale is one of three schools in Birmingham that have failed to meet the government target of 35% in this year’s GCSE results.
28% of students at Castle Vale School achieved 5 A*-C grades including maths and English, compared with 31% last year. Headteacher Clive Owen says he is disappointed.
58% of pupils across Birmingham’s schools achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and maths this year, compared with 54% last year.
