Renee Matthews is making a very personal donation to a good cause this weekend.
On Saturday she will have her long golden hair cut off, and will donate it to a charity called The Princess Trust who make wigs for children who have suffered hair loss because of cancer treatment.
Renee’s Mom, Rita, will do the cutting, and will then take her daughter to a salon in Solihull where she will have her hair styled for free.
The hair cutting is part of a bigger event this Saturday 17th September in aid of the Children’s Hospital.
Renee is raising money in memory of her cousin, Terri James, who died of cancer aged 16.
The main event in the charity day is a sponsored four mile fancy dress Walkathon starting in Kings Heath Park from 10 am.
Organiser Matt Denning will be donating the money to the Oncology Ward at Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital.
