Police: cuts to Vale?

West Midlands Police is to lose 2,000 staff, starting in January, with massive amounts of those cuts happening in the first two years.
Without a hint of irony, the police force are calling this process of cuts ‘continuous improvement.’
The cuts will affect Castle Vale, Inspector Mark Ward told the Neighbourhood Partnership Board today.
But resident Brian Cragg, more bulldog than watchdog, informed him that Castle Vale uses its own money to fund a total of 1.6 additional police officers, and this will mean that the police force is likely to use that money to keep Vale police levels at the same rate as other areas – in other words, Vale will be subsidising its own police force.
Not so, said the inspector. That would never happen.
Mr Cragg was not convinced.
