Pedestrian accident in Tangmere Drive


A pedestrian was injured on Tangmere Drive, Castle Vale last night in the early evening when he was in a collision with a car. An eyewitness said that the man had just got off the bus when he was hit by a vehicle. He appeared to have sustained head injuries.
Paramedics attended, and the man, thought to be in his early twenties, was taken to hospital. The female driver of the vehicle was distraught, the eyewitness said.

Two in court charged with murder over Chelmsley Wood stabbing


Two men will appear in court this morning (Nov 24) charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a man in Solihull on Sunday evening. West Midlands Police detectives last night charged Paul McAteer, from Crossfield Road in Kitts Green, and Liam Cole from Nearmore Road in Shard End.
McAteer, 32, and 18-year-old Cole will appear before Birmingham magistrates this morning accused of stabbing 22-year-old Henley-in-Arden man Harry Broadhurst to death in Chelmsley Wood following a disorder at a local club.
The pair are both charged with murder plus one count of wounding.
