Vale academy moves a step closer

Birmingham Council’s Cabinet today discussed the future of education in the City. One of the reports under discussion was a list of all schools in the city that are involved in negotiations towards academy status. Castle Vale School was listed as one of eleven schools in the city that could be run by an organisation that oversees a number of academies – a so-called ‘academy chain’. The forerunner in the bid to recruit Castle Vale School into its group is AET, (Academies Enterprise Trust) based in Essex.
The report indicated that the schools in the list are expected to open as academies in September 2012.
